Our program is designed to help adults who struggle with reading and writing. By improving literacy skills, adults can function better in society and enrich their personal lives.
This is a FREE program. Each student is matched with a trained, tutor volunteer. They usually meet for one hour, two times a week. Materials are provided for student and tutor use at no cost. We have curriculum to take our students up to an eighth grade reading level.
Adults must be conversational in English to enter our program. Those who need assistance with beginning English are referred to The English Language Center. Once they have completed the program at the English Language Center and have learned conversational English, we can help them continue to progress in their grammar and writing skills.
We are located in the Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice.
